Pratt/ Iuka locations adds new President

The First State Bank & Trust Company is pleased to announce that Desmond Smith has accepted the position as President for the Pratt and Iuka areas.   Desmond is a Central Kansas native and a 6th generation Kansan.  His broad business experience, which includes financial services, energy, agriculture, and technology, will be a tremendous asset to the bank. 

He gained expertise domestically in corporate finance, logistics, and business development during a career which has included positions that vary from Wall Street, to Silicon Valley, to major energy companies.

Desmond has also had the opportunity to visit more than 70 countries during his career, and has led business efforts headquartered in more than a dozen locations, including oil production in the North Sea, technology development in South America, and the expansion of business opportunities for U.S. corporations throughout Europe.

In addition, while working internationally, Desmond was able to assist companies in developing the business logic and processes necessary to return previously exported jobs back to the U.S.
