Trust is the cornerstone of the banking business. We welcome this opportunity to describe our privacy policies and the steps we take to protect your customer information. We want you to understand what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it. First State Bank & Trust Company values the trust you have given us. Information We Collect

In order to facilitate the servicing of your account, First State Bank & Trust Company may receive “nonpublic personal information” about you from the following sources:

Information we receive from you on applications or other forms:

Information about transactional activity in your account; and

Information we receive from a consumer-reporting agency.

“Nonpublic personal information” is nonpublic information about you that we obtain in connection with providing a financial product or service to you. For example, nonpublic personal information includes information regarding your account balance, payment history, and overdraft history.

Please be assured we will never provide medical information that we may obtain in an insurance application except to process transactions or to provide services you have requested or initiated.

If you decide to close your account(s) or become an inactive customer, we will continue to adhere to the privacy policies and practices described in this notice.

Sharing Information with Nonaffiliated Third Parties

We do not sell or disclose any nonpublic information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as permitted by law.
 

Sharing Information with Companies that Work for Us

We do share information with companies that work for us. For example, we may share information with companies that print checks for us, process your transactions, or mail out account statements. In addition, we may share customer information with companies that work for us to provide marketing and other services or other companies with whom we have joint marketing agreements. All of these companies are acting on our behalf, are contractually obligated to keep all information confidential, and use the information only to provide the services we ask them to provide.

Sharing Information in Other Situations

We may also disclose information on your account to credit bureaus and other entities as permitted by law. For example, this may include a disclosure to comply with a court order, a subpoena, an audit, or a regulatory examination

Information Accuracy

Keeping your account information accurate and up to date is very important. You can access your account through various means such as account statement, telephone banking and online banking. If ever you find that your account information is incomplete, inaccurate, or not current, please call or write to us at the telephone number or address listed on your account statement.

Our Security Procedures

Keeping your financial information secure is one of our most important responsibilities. We value your trust and hold information about you with care. We restrict access to your customer information to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. All employees are bound by our Standard of Conduct Policy requiring confidential treatment of customer information. We also maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.
